My cat would join me when I sat in front of the fireplace to read, cuddling up to my side plus purring softly on a regular basis
I can’t really tell who likes our fireplace more: me, or our cat. In hindsight, it should not have been surprising to me in the slightest that our cat now seems to be in love with our fireplace. Of course he likes warm spaces, as most cats do, plus even seems to get mad when our heating is not working so well. However, I had no idea that our cat would love our fireplace to such a degree. When we moved into our new residence, which happened to have a fireplace, our cat was fairly apprehensive at first. He didn’t really appreciate the sound of the logs burning, he didn’t like its enormous imposing stature, plus by the looks of things he didn’t like the odor of the burning wood, either. As time moved forward, though, I noticed that he started to warm up more plus more to our fireplace. My cat would join me when I sat in front of the fireplace to read, cuddling up to my side plus purring softly on a regular basis. Eventually he acquired the courage to go closer plus closer to the fireplace, curiously taking in the new warmth, plus then fully basking in it as though it were like golden rays from the sun. He would stretch out in front of the fireplace plus soak up as much heating energy as his little heart desired, seeking solace from the freezing weather outside. It became a part of his typical routine to soak up the warmth coming from the fireplace each night after I would supply him his food, plus he seemed to be quite satisfied with it.
