Thursday nights have become very special days for my wife and I.
Some of our favorite moments of our relationship has happened in front of the fireplace. I got my first fireplace fifteen years ago. I had a problem with my furnace and after calling the HVAC company, I was going to need to go without any heating for three days. I had found a gas fireplace that was cheap and easy to set up. I fell in love with the romance and the comfort of that fireplace. My girlfriend loved the fireplace too and we had a lot of romantic evenings in front of the fireplace. I even broke up with her in front of that fireplace. I knew that when I bought my own home, I was going to have a real fireplace in the house. Two years later, I met my wife. As soon as we decided to get married, we also knew that we wanted to start life in our own home. The one thing we both agreed on, was that we wanted to have a fireplace in the house. I was still using the old fireplace and she and I had become engaged in front of it. The fireplace had become a place for us to make plans and to be together. The time my wife said yes, we were sitting in front of the fireplace and we sat in front of the fireplace when she told me I was going to be a father. Even if we move ten times over the next fifty years, we will still make sure to have a fireplace in the house.
