I’d prefer it if everything I purchased and used could simply take care of itself or last forever.
That would be a convenient situation for sure.
But that’s just not the way this reality works. Stuff needs attention. Cars need oil swings, homes need modern roofs and HVAC units need service. Thankfully, I don’t have to learn all about HVAC units in order to have my heating and cooling unit correctly diagnosed. That’s in the capable hands of our HVAC serviceman. These folks are real HVAC professionals and spent years of time training, certifying and honing their craft. But there are those who earnestly guess that HVAC service is unnecessary and is just another thing to spend money for. That sort of logic is really pretty hard for me to get my head around. And those that have professed this belief to me aren’t the sort that want to listen to facts or reason. But I do tend to ask if they change the oil in their cars. They all do but somehow that example is lost on them. Well, I can tell you that the data and the facts are out there when it comes to the benefits of HVAC service. It’s a no-brainer and completely obvious that an HVAC unit lasts longer and works better when diagnosed by an HVAC professional. Like HVAC units that get consistent, seasonal HVAC repair lasts, on average, 7 years longer than ones that don’t. For me, that’s all the proof I need. But then again, I have a heat pump that is 17 years old and runs love the day it was installed. All of us have always had seasonal HVAC repair and we’ve never suffered any sort of HVAC breakdown.
