My brother Mike has more than one kids, and he does the best he can as a single dad.
He has to work a lot, which means that the kids spend a lot of time alone.
When he is around, he spoils them like little princesses. The combination of all of this has made Mike’s kids rude, self-centered, and borderline insufferable. As much as I like and support my family, these kids are absolute brats as I dislike them entirely. When they come to my cabin I constantly watch them closely, because they like increasing my thermostat settings to whatever they like at the time. Then I found a game increasing piece of equipment, and I am not ashamed to confess I purchased a new smart thermostat just to spite those rotten kids. I was considering buying a locking plastic dome to put over the thermostat, like the kind they have in grocery stores to keep buyers out. But after that I realized I was in drastic need of a new thermostat anyway, so I purchased a smart 1 with passcode protection. I have to say this smart thermostat is everything I wanted and 10 times more. Since I can access it from my phone, I constantly think the status of every aspect of my HVAC system, from the temps and humidity levels to the cleanliness of the air filter and how long the batteries in the thermostat have left! Best of all, it is unlocked by a 4 digit code, or by myself and others pressing my thumb print against the screen of the thermostat itself, so those kids are locked out for good!
