Selling our first remodelled house

My wife and I had always planned to live in as many houses as possible before retirement.

We both worked in the creative space and loved playing around with designs and color.

We agreed that once our two babies were grown and big enough to live independently, we would quit working for other people and concentrate on remodeling houses that we bought and resell them. My wife was a renowned interior designer, and I was a pretty good housing contractor, so this would be fun. The moment our last-born daughter went off to college, we embarked on our first big project, which was renovating the house we had lived in for two decades before we could put it up for resale. We broke down the walls and changed the decor in all rooms. This was a magnificent piece of work, and we were proud to have come this far. All this while, we filmed our progress and would share it on social media platforms. Some people had expressed interest in buying the house once done, but we knew it would take a while. However, our pages almost shut down when we decided to swap the old central heating and cooling unit with a modern GEO system. Many people wanted to make deposits, and some even offered higher value for the house. It took us a month after the completion to test and see that everything was perfect. I had started getting used to the new AC system, but we finally accepted an offer and got 30 percent more for the house. Although it was sad leaving, it marked the start of an exciting experience for us.
