I live in a community where all the neighbors are generally looking out for 1 another. All of us rarely have any commotions, and our adolescents play together day in and day out. All of us chose to be close and united after 1 of us fell ill, and no 1 knew for several afternoons until it was too late. It was such a distraught moment because her child came to rapidly knock at our door 1 day asking for help. Now we try to hold events plus consistent meetings just to check in on 1 another. Last summer, we hosted a barbeque for everyone, and the parents were hanging out inside where the AC was cool. Suddenly, the weather changed on us, and there were clouds everywhere. There had been no news of a storm blowing in to the region, so this was shocking. Everyone went condo and soon after the rain began. It rained so damn much, but fortunate for us, we had a fantastic AC unit to keep us safe indoors. The only modern issue was we were not prepared for the floods that followed. The whole section of our town was out of power a few hours later, and we could see outdoor Heating, Ventilation, and A/Cs literally floating away on the street… People were getting desperate without any working air conditioning, but there was nothing to do. The AC mechanics wanted to help, I’m sure, but the roads were too dangerous to drive anywhere. It kept raining for numerous afternoons, and we had to stay all that time without any air conditioning. Then, when the rain ceased, we assessed the mangle and noticed our poor Heating, Ventilation, and A/C was missing.
