You learn a lot about how to get in better shape when you’re scared of dying.
That is the truth at least in my case.
It shouldn’t have taken a pandemic to rattle me enough to take my not so great health seriously. But, I guess we all get motivated in different ways. When the pandemic hit, it was people like me who were taking the worst of it. I had spent too many years sitting in the air conditioning, swilling beers and eating poorly. Exercise had been a four letter word and I mostly ignored my doctor’s warnings about my health. I felt fine as long as I was sitting in my recliner in the air conditioning. Well, had I continued down that path, I would have run into some real health problems whether it was Covid induced or not. Once we were locked down and I was working from the air conditioning at home, I realized that I needed to change and quickly. I learned all I could about improving my immune response along with my overall health. This is where I learned about indoor air quality as it relates to the immune system. The HVAC isn’t necessarily helping clean the air in your house unless you have a HEPA filter. I didn’t so that was the first thing I did. Then, I took the next step and called the HVAC company. They installed a whole house air purification unit in the HVAC air handler. That along with the HEPA filter for the HVAC produces about the best indoor air quality I could possibly have.
