I think we all can tend to get a bit of tunnel vision when it comes to our lives.
Yet, there are situations and experiences that help us to realize the value all those other people out there are bringing to the table.
For me, I tend to think that my work is just so important. That happens because I spend an inordinate amount of time inside the zone controlled HVAC of our offices. I like what I do and it provides a very nice living indeed. Still, it comes with lots and lots of hours working. So when it comes to time off, the last thing I want to do is to tackle household projects. Fortunately, I have a guy who does all of the stuff around the house for me. But I learned something that he doesn’t do when I asked him to take a look at the air conditioning. I noticed the HVAC cooling just wasn’t as cool and figured that maybe it just needed a recharge or something. It was the first time my handy man gave me an unequivocal “no”. I also got a lesson in the only person to handle the HVAC equipment is a licensed and certified HVAC professional. The handy man went on to list all the training an HVAC technician has to go through. And that’s just to start. The continuing education and factory training is endless in fact. So the next time the HVAC guy is at your house doing the HVAC maintenance, don’t ignore it. This guy isn’t just cutting the grass. An HVAC technician is a gifted, trained HVAC professional.
