Last Summer, some friends and I decided to take a trip to the beach.
We woke up before the sunrise, filled my car with cold drinks, snacks, and a bunch of our favorite music and podcasts, and hit the road.
The drive went by quickly, and we had a great time along the way. When we got to our destination, we decided to go straight to the beach before checking into our hotel. We flew kites, threw a football, listened to music, and drank a few beers. We were having such a great time at the beach that we didn’t even notice that we forgot to put on sunscreen until it was too late. By the time we realized what had happened, we were all covered in bright pink sunburns. We slowly packed up our things, and checked into the hotel. After we showered, we all put aloe vera all over our skin, cranked the air conditioner, and laid down in front of it. The air conditioner felt so amazing on my burnt skin, the powerful air conditioner was so incredibly soothing that none of us wanted to move. The air conditioner felt so good, in fact, that it was almost worth getting the sunburn in the first place. If it wasn’t for the strength of the air conditioner, we would have had a miserable time, and probably would have left the beach early. The air conditioner was our saving grace the entire weekend, and when we look back on the trip, the one thing we remember about the hotel was how good the air conditioner worked. As good as it felt, I will definitely be using sunscreen next time I go to the beach.
