My husband Brian and I really need to make some changes to our current heating and cooling system but we aren’t sure what we want to do. The problem is that we can’t decide if we want to repair our current system or if we want to upgrade the whole thing with something entirely new. I guess it would end up paying for itself eventually if we get a high efficiency air conditioning system or something like a heat pump. The HVAC system that we have currently is not up to date at all. I feel like we spend a fortune on our heating and cooling bills. Even though this could be avoided by purchasing a new HVAC system, we are still balking at the idea of spending so much money upfront. If you’re a homeowner, you know how unexpected repairs are always popping up around the house. We have the money for the new HVAC system in the bank right now. I know that sounds a little bit neurotic, but we’ve had this sort of thing happen to us in the past. In our old apartment, we spent a lot of money buying new window unit air conditioners for the bedroom, kitchen, and living room areas. But as soon as we paid all of the money for the new A/C units, we found out that we had to replace the sink and vanity in the master bathroom! So I guess now we are just a little bit paranoid about spending money on home repairs, even if we really do need a new heating and cooling system.
