My son plays baseball every summer and he’s really good at it.
He usually pitches, and I really like watching him play.
The only problem that I have with the sport of baseball is the fact that it’s played during the summertime when the weather is really heating up outside. See, I’m the kind of person who loves the air conditioning. Air conditioning is one of those modern conveniences that I feel like I can’t live without. When you’re at the baseball field as often as we are in the summer, you really start to appreciate the air conditioning even more than before! We try to take a tent so we can have some shade during the games, but simply having shade is no match for having air conditioning. I like staying home most of the time in the summer. When the outside temperatures are anywhere above 80 degrees, I would rather just be at home. I like to keep our thermostat at home set around 70 degrees in the summertime. There’s nothing I like more than to come inside from a hot sunny day and collapse onto the sofa in my well-air-conditioned home. When the A/C is blowing down on my face from the air vents in the ceiling, it just makes me happy! And then when I feel the cooling breeze coming from the A/C vents in the floor, I think it’s so relaxing. Needless to say, whenever a long, hot baseball game is over in the summer, that’s exactly what I do when we get home. I guess if there’s one thing that’s great about playing baseball in the hot summertime, it’s being able to appreciate your cooling system at home once the game is over!
