My husband decided that he wanted to redo the HVAC system in our house.
This included adding some additional ductwork in part of the house. I told him that this was more of a job for a professional HVAC technician, but he insisted that he wanted to do most of the work himself. He really wanted to save money on the heating and cooling project by doing the work without the assistance of a professional. I wasn’t too sure that this was a good idea. I mean, my husband is pretty handy, but I didn’t have complete faith in his ability to complete the entire project. He had watched several videos on his favorite HVAC blog and so he was pretty confident that he knew what he was doing. Well, the first day that he started working on our heating and cooling system, he decided that he needed to begin by cleaning out all of the air ducts. He took his vacuum upstairs and started unscrewing all of the air vent covers and the covers of the air returns. A few minutes after he started vacuuming out the air ducts, I heard the roar of the vacuum die down and my husband yelled for me to come upstairs. I thought something was wrong at first, because he sounded so excited. I ran up the stairs and he was standing there in front of the air duct with a leather pouch in his hand. Inside the air duct, someone had left an entire stack of letters written back during World War II. Besides that, there were two diamond rings inside the air duct, too!
