For our anniversary last month, my husband and I stayed at a little bed and breakfast in the country close to a winery.
This was all my husband’s idea.
I would never have chosen to stay at a place like this; I’m more of a fancy hotel kind of girl. But since he did all the planning and tried to make it a romantic getaway, I went along with the whole thing. And I must admit that when we got to the bed and breakfast, it was very nice. It was quaint and rustic and the decor was very nice. However, once we got into our suite, I noticed that there was something wrong with the HVAC system. The temperature in the bedroom was especially warm, even though the air conditioning system appeared to be running. There was air coming out of the air vents, but the air was lukewarm. It wasn’t cooling the place down very well, and I am pretty particular when it comes to the indoor air quality in my hotel rooms! I was trying to be upbeat and positive about the situation even though I was a little bit upset about the lack of air conditioning. My husband knows me well, though. He knew I was freaking out on the inside about the temperature in the suite. It didn’t help matters that the weather outside was heating up more and more by the hour! My husband talked to the owners of the bed and breakfast and they admitted that the cooling system in that part of the house had been on the blink.
