My girlfriend and I went tent camping last weekend, but I knew it was going to be pretty chilly at night.
- I decided to go to the hardware store and purchase a small heater for the tent.
I knew we would have water and electricity at our tent site, so I found a small space heater that ran on electricity. I didn’t tell my girlfriend about the space heater, but I thought it would be a nice surprise if we needed it. They packed a cooler with plenty of cold drinks, water, lunch meat, cheese, bread, chips, and granola bars. We took our sleeping bags and an air mattress for the tent. We went to the campground on Friday and we set up our tent. It was warmer than I was anticipating and I thought I was silly for purchasing a space heater that was unnecessary. As soon as the sun went down, the temperature started to drop quickly. By the time my girlfriend and I went to sleep, it was only 52 degrees outside. My girlfriend was complaining about sleeping in the cold weather, so I went to the truck and got the space heater out of the trunk. I plugged in the space heater and set it up in the corner of the tent. My girlfriend was really excited and she was much happier after the tent warmed up. We used the heater on Friday and Saturday night. It was chilly both nice and it was nice for night time sleeping. We would have survived without the heater, but we certainly would not have slept as well.
