I can’t stand for someone to lie directly to my face.
It is probably one of my biggest pet peeves.
It makes me angry and frustrated and I never handled the situation very well. Since I am a business owner, I have to hold my tongue and swallow my pride at times. This week was one of those times. A commercial customer called for a boiler repair. I sent one of my best commercial repair technicians to work on the boiler. The guy knows everything about boilers, furnaces, and heaters. My technician was on the job for less than an hour, before the owner of the business called me to complain. He felt the technician was wasting time and fooling around instead of working quickly. I told the owner of the business that we do not charge by the hour. I told the owner that my technician was the best guy for the job and I assured him that the boiler repair would be properly handled. After another 15 or 20 minutes, the phone in my office started ringing again. The owner of the business told the technician to leave the property. The owner tried to tell me that my technician caused a scene and started cursing and swearing. I absolutely know that is not the truth. I’m not exactly sure what happened, but I know the property owner wasn’t giving me the whole truth. Instead of arguing, I decided it was a good idea to walk away. After that problem and ordeal, we no longer service that commercial customer.
