My AC needs an air filter- how to tell if yours does

A few months ago, I would be clueless about anything Heating and Air Conditioning.

However, due to the challenges that I experienced when our AC abruptly broke down, I needed all the cool air I could get, which prompted myself and others to learn as much as possible.

This sent myself and others researching every potential issue that may cause an AC to stop working abruptly. The discoveries I made were mesmerizing. One of the major challenges that force shut ACs is the lack of a filter change. Filters sieve out the dirt and debris that potentially clog the component and cause airflow restriction through the vents. When left unattended, the dirt accumulates and may even corrode the internal components of the Heating and Air Conditioning system. This happens when the air conditioner component is forced to work many times harder… As such slowly causes wear and tear of the internal components. Therefore, it is essential to guess when to change the AC filters in good time lest you risk dealing with these troubles. Fortunately, some signs will always manifest and push you to change filters immediately they start showing. First, you need to monitor the temperatures. If the air is not cool enough as expected, then something is off. You need to stay alert further and see if the electricity bill increases. If it has, then this is your cue to try and figure out what could be happening. Besides that, also check to see if you are abruptly suffering from continuous pollen irritations. If you are not sensitive yet cannot avoid getting a cold, then the filter may be problematic.
