It stinks not having the air conditioner blow on me since it does get hot under the stage lights, but I’d rather not experience dry eye while I’m trying to play music
I’ve been attending the same church for about twelve years. I’ve come to become close with many of the people there, and have served on different teams. I taught myself to play the piano when I was a kid, so I play the keyboard during the praise and worship part of service. I love getting up there and jamming out with the other band members. The only part that sucks is that one of the air vents points directly towards where I stand at my keyboard. They keep the air conditioning very cold in the sanctuary, so it’s just cold dry air blowing into my eyeballs the entire hour I’m up there playing. It got to the point where I asked one of the maintenance crew members if there was any way that we could close the air vent, or at least turn it face to face in another direction. But for some reason they said that the vent could only be adjusted by an actual air conditioning technician. This didn’t make sense to me, so I asked the pastor if they could send the technician over at some point to do that, and to my surprise, they were due for an inspection anyway! The technician came by the following week and adjusted the pesky vent for me. It stinks not having the air conditioner blow on me since it does get hot under the stage lights, but I’d rather not experience dry eye while I’m trying to play music. I still never found out why those maintenance guys lied to me. The technician said that nothing special was needed to adjust the vent, and that they could have easily done it.
