You don’t get choices

Our city is small enough that there are absolutely few businesses around here, and not more than a single of anything.

In the 60s, a second gas station opened up for a short while…

however didn’t last for a year before it went under. The city wasn’t even big enough to support two gas stations, you see? One was all the two of us needed in the place… Same with the grocery store, the two of us just have the single. One library, a single stop light, a single liquor store, and so forth and so forth… and as you would imagine, this can lead to some conflicts of time management for the professionals, when all of a sudden a single guy is in high demand. Such is the case with the local Heating and A/C service tech… or at least the closest thing the two of us have around here for that. I asked to see his Heating and A/C certification once, and the paper he showed that day was many years old, from another state, and not in his name. But he seems to realize how to service a/cs, so why would I say anything about it? Also, who would I tell about this? He is the only guy in these parts that can service an a/c, regardless of if he has the legal right to. In another site, there would be options for other Heating and A/C techs to call, ones with real certifications, however the two of us are all alone in the Big Nowhere out here. I hope he never thinks he’s being made fun of at all, he won’t service our A/C the next time I need him.
