I’m not complaining, I want to make that perfectly clear.
My family is wonderful & they are my reason for living for the most part.
But, it’s also a bit difficult periodically to be the only male in a beach house full of women. It’s not so much their idiosyncrasies or what they do as much as it is their reaction to me. I’m often viewed as the boy who comes in & wrecks stuff. This can be me changing the temperature control setting or wondering in & saying hey to their friends. God forbid I stand down & eat a sandwich with my feet up in the a/c. It’s that sort of stuff that makes living in my beach house feel a bit challenging at times. One of the largest complaints is when it’s rainy outside & I want to do my exercises inside. I hear a litany of complaints about how gross & sweaty I am. Or why can’t I just join a gym & get that out of the house. Plus, I tend to turn down the Heating & A/C temperature control setting when I exercise as well. This elicits several side eye glances & hoodies being pulled on. In an effort to meet my women more in the middle, I called the Heating & A/C business. I asked the Heating & A/C professionals to come out & change our existing heating & cooling equipment. It wasn’t as though they were replacing the Heating & A/C device as much as they were refining it. Once there labor was complete, our home had zone controlled Heating & A/C. That meant Dad could now find a strange part of the beach house to cool off for exercise or to secretly eat a sandwich in the a/c.
