Dining experience diminished due to HVAC

My wife and I love to eat.

Not so much the act of eating although we like that too.

I should say that the two of us really enjoy being able to dine. Dining together has been something that we have enjoyed since we first met. We both like to leave the HVAC comfort of home and head to a favorite restaurant to enjoy a lovely meal. For us though, it’s more than just the food. Dining is the entire experience. It has to do with the service, the surroundings, comfort as well as the food. So, it saddened us that we had to leave one of our favorite dining places over something as basic as heating and cooling. That’s right, we are leaving behind an otherwise lovely eating spot because they just can’t get the HVAC right. Actually, it’s less that they can’t get the HVAC right and more that they just won’t. The restaurant is in a repurposed building but is using an antiquated piece of HVAC equipment. For the dining room, which is large, the heating and cooling is all over the map. If you’re seated near the kitchen, the air conditioning is nonexistent. The sweat is rolling down my back before I have even finished the appetizer. But if you are away from the kitchen, the air conditioning is overwhelming. I tend to have to give my blazer to my wife. All the place needs is a zone controlled HVAC upgrade. But they are either too cheap or too stubborn to do it. I wonder how many other patrons they’ll lose to a fixable HVAC problem.
