I drive a truck for a living.
- I put an average of 712 miles a day on my vehicle, and some days I don’t feel like driving 7 miles.
When my Heating, Ventilation and A/C plan went out, I had to continue my run. I still had 150 miles to go before I reached my next pick-up, where there was also a nearby garage that could repair the HVAC system. By the time I got to the garage, the HVAC expert had already gone home. I knew I couldn’t spend the night in the truck without any heating. Luckily, the truck plaza I was at, had multiple diners and 1 well-known hotel. By the time I walked to the hotel and got to my room, I was shivering. I had been in the south earlier that morning, where the temperatures were in the eighties. I was now shivering with swiftly dropping temperatures that were already in the thirties. I got into the room and headed over to the control unit to get some heat in the room. I then turned on the shower and waited until the water was steaming, so I could warm myself from the outside in. I headed to a diner for a nice meal and then I chose to go back to the room. The Heating and A/C plan had quit working while I was eating, and the room was almost as cold as it was outside. I called to the front desk and asked if they had any Heating and A/C techs in-house. Five minutes later, there was someone there finally working on the HVAC system. He said he just had to hit the reset button, and I had excellent HVAC for the next three days.
