We have a gas furnace situated in our home plus recently I have been noticing a weird stink or some sort of sewage genre stink whenever the central gas furnace component has kicked on plus started running.
And this is not a decaying genre of stink such as a dead critter, either.
It’s mostly just a skunky kind of stink, and we definitely already have a carbon monoxide plus gas detector so it’s not entirely a problem with that system. Our home is built on a brick foundation, plus so there isn’t any basement to create smells. The air ducts are all under the floors, though, plus the actual gas furnace is in a utility closet downstairs. I was starting to wonder if maybe there was a skunk or something in the air ducts under our floors or something, plus so I asked a good buddy of mine who is an Heating & A/C worker if he had ever heard of that, but no – he entirely said that, actually, my carbon monoxide detector would not be able to detect natural gases if there were a natural gas leak in the home but that my gas dealer would be able to come plus check it out quickly for myself and others for free. That explanation made a lot of sense to myself and others so I’m definitely going to call both a plumber plus an Heating & A/C worker today. I really have got to get rid of this stink! Come hell or high heating, cooling, and air conditioning costs.
