Within this last month I have learned an important lesson, you get what you pay for. Three months ago I moved into a new apartment complex, I was trying to save some money and so I was looking to get the cheapest place possible. I should have listened to my friends when they advised me not to go with any old place I found. They were only trying to help me but at the time all it did was irritate me, I couldn’t understand why they would be against me saving money! However, I soon discovered this was not the case at all. They as a matter of fact understood me wanting to cut back on some expenses, but were trying to warn me against renting a worn down piece of junk. But now it was too late for me, I had chosen not to listen and already signed the lease on a place that had paint coming off the walls and flickering lights. I could deal with those problems, however what was especially hard to deal with was the horrible heating and a/c that the place had. The HVAC system hardly worked and the indoor air quality was terrible. I ended up having to purchase some standing air purifiers from the local heat and a/c company because even building maintenance couldn’t fix it, now I am simply waiting for my lease to be up so I can do what my friends suggested all along and get out of this place. The standing air purifiers will get me through until then and I have gained a new respect for HVAC systems.
