We had many reasons for doing changes to our HVAC system.
Four of them were our children.
No matter what happened, they had to fight over it. No one ever seemed to think that they had their fair share of anything. They fought over the last piece of cake and they fought over the thermostat. Everyone wanted their own type of heating and I was tired of it. My husband and I decided it was time to add a couple more rooms to the house. We knew we were going to need to add HVAC to the new rooms, so we went to the obvious person which was the HVAC contractor. We told him about the two rooms we were added and asked if we could extend the ductwork to put HVAC into both rooms and a new bathroom. He did a lot of looking around and he said he didn’t think it would work. The ductwork was already overextended. He told us that we probably had high energy bills now because of how far the ductwork had to reach to heat and cool the house. We had two rooms that were always too cold or too hot and he said that was because of the ductwork. He told us they have ductless HVAC system now. He told us about the ductless HVAC and said we may want to consider HVAC units into each of the new rooms and into those two rooms that weren’t heated and cooled properly. He showed us a ductless HVAC system that had four individual air handlers and a small system that could go into the new bathroom. We were thrilled with the new HVAC system and we were more thrilled about the change in our energy bills.
