I am so annoyed that the oil furnace seems to run non stop however my home is never legitimately cozy hot while in the winter.
Well, I just found out when an outdated university buddy stopped by for the weekend.
The night he arrived, we were up late sipping fine scotch and telling stories when he complained of being a bit cold. I grabbed him a sweater and explained how annoyed I was by our Heating as well as Air Conditioning situation. This lack of complete warmth had been going on for some time. I have had the oil furnace inspected however it was practically brand new so I didn’t know that was the problem. The Heating as well as Air Conditioning guy simply confirmed that for me. My buddy said he thought he might be able to help me after we went skiing the next day. On the way back from the slopes, my friend asked me stop by the hardware store. He came back with a small bucket and a grin on his face. Once we got home, he showed me his purchase. There was a thermal temperature gun in the bag. My buddy said this helped him so much to find the leaks and drafts in his house. I hadn’t even considered that. Our home is fairly new so I thought it was tight. All of us went outside and started pointing the temp gun over the exterior of my house. I was entirely shocked at how much treated air was leaking out of my home. I know what I’ll be doing every weekend until I get my home super tight. I’m so thankful to know what the cause of all that cool air is now.
