A lot of people were surprised that I bought a smart thermostat.
- I am not a technologically savvy person at all.
I am not the type of girl that has a bunch of smart products and wants the convenience of easy changes to the HVAC. I honestly bought my thermostat just for the look of it. I decided to spruce up my home and make it more modern. I started with the hallway. I mudded the hallway ceiling and sanded it to make it smooth. I also painted the walls a light grey color and added silver switch plates and new knobs on the doors. Those little touches have really brightened the room. Instead of the gross plastic fire detector, I got a smart smoke alarm that is white and blends in. The last thing was updating the thermostat. The beige thermostat stuck out on my grey walls. The plastic toggle really made it seem ancient when next to my new switch plates. I found that the smart thermostat looked the best in my home. I was able to purchase one with a blue innerface and silver surround to match all my door handles. It really ties the room together. Everyone notices the thermostat and how modern the hallway looks. I don’t really care that it learns heating and cooling programs. It does alert me on energy efficient settings, air filter changes and what my humidity in the house is. Those are all cool features but what I enjoy best is how modern and edgy it looks.
