Salvaging the heater and possibly even more

I actually salvaged the entire zoned HVAC system and saved myself a whole lot of money replacing the whole unit

My thirty-year-old boiler was exploding when it came on and this scared the heavens out of my dad each and every time. Besides this, the unit was also dragging on loudly when on as well as cold and hot spots all throughout the house. Once when I was cleaning out the basement, the boiler started smoking, this scared me so much that I ran to the socket and switched it off. It had been ten years since the boiler was last cleaned and this was among the myriad of problems causing the exploding sounds. The pilot flame was not kindling the main burners. Natural gas was filling up the furnace then it would explode causing the ducts to shake and loosen the duct sealing. The pipe from the heat pump was clogged with soot causing the heating equipment to rust. The heater was all cracked up allowing oxygen to sip in and causing the explosion when switched on. The cooling tech showed me the crack on the dual fuel system that was realizing carbon monoxide in the house which was a serious health hazard. Over the next 4 hours, I cleaned and inspected the air conditioning system, checked the space heater to ensure nothing was broken or worn out. I consulted with the cooling corporation on the new heating units in the market as well as getting information on more about air conditioning. I actually salvaged the entire zoned HVAC system and saved myself a whole lot of money replacing the whole unit. Unlike my neighbor who ignored the warning signs of his heated floors and ended up not only replacing the entire unit but also having to rebuild his basement which almost caved in when the unit exploded.
