It was one of those days when everything seems to go wrong from the time you open your eyes in the morning.
I had snoozed my way to lateness and when I was awakened by my dog barking, I almost got a heart attack when I checked the time.
I jumped out of bed headed to the shower when I knocked my little toe on the bed. Limping towards the front door, I discovered my keys were not in the keys bowl. As I hurriedly looked for my keys I noted the air had become crispier in the house and it had gone completely silent. The air conditioning system had completely gone silent causing the heat in the apartment to plummet. I tried restarting it, but the system was dead. I couldn’t leave my dog in this cold house and I didn’t know of any dog daycare around. I called the cooling corporation hoping that they would send a cooling tech asap. As I waited, I switched on the dual fuel system I had, as a backup unit. It became apparent I was going to work from home today so I made myself comfortable and started on work. The zoned HVAC system had been installed a couple of years back and I often upgraded the heating equipment and redid the duct sealing to ensure the system lasted longer. It was still chilly in the house so I added a space heater and also switched on the furnace. I placed the heater in my bedroom because my dog likes laying on my bed. The technician who showed up 3 hours later fixed the heat pump within 3 hours. Knowing more about air conditioning systems, he was kind enough to offer information on new heating units in the market including heated floors.
