I laid in my bed last night, and I could hear the wind howling all around the house.
It felt like the house was shaking because of the violent way it was blowing.
It’s funny how I can handle the noise of the wind during the day, but not at night. The dark of night brings along the fear of what could happen. We have sixty foot trees all around us. Some of them creak whenever the wind blows. Several of these trees are right outside my bedroom window, and if they were to come down, they would crash through that end of the house. That would be a disaster enough. What happens if those trees crash through your house when it is winter. Can you imagine all the heat flowing out of the house? Not just heat, but think of all the money it cost to heat the house. You’d have the cost of the repairs, and all the heat loss. That would also mean that my furnace is working overtime. The furnace doesn’t realize there is no way it is going to continue to heat a home that has a gaping hole in its roof. Being an inanimate object, a furnace couldn’t recognize that it is over working. My furnace is so old that now I would probably need a new furnace because it would have worked itself to death. I wish I didn’t overthink things when night falls. Overthinking makes for a lot of sleepless nights worrying over my furnace, or the air conditioner if it is summer..
