Installing new HVAC systems at my mother’s rental houses

My mother had retired 3 years ago and had used her pension payout to purchase a number of run-down residential properties that she intended to renovate and rent out.

She was elated by her purchase as this was an idea she had been mulling over for the past decade, however, within the past 5 years she had taken the steps to educate herself on the real estate industry.

She had also spoken to experts in the field and listened to testimonials from her peers who were also in the real estate business. The renovations had started and I hired an air conditioning technician to assess the current AC system. He gave me a quotation of the damaged parts and referred me to an air conditioning supplier who recommended that I replace the old systems with new HVAC systems as most heating and cooling equipment was archaic and didn’t function well. In one house, in particular, the system clanked noisily when switched on. Since the houses were old, each was fitted with an oil furnace which seemed to be leaking as the grass on the lawn was non-existent or had dried up. The expert advised that a propane boiler would work best because of the gas lines that were connected to the houses as opposed to a hot water boiler which was expensive to install. He confirmed that with a quality air conditioner, I didn’t need an air purifier which also meant less frequent air duct cleaning and washing of the washable filter. I familiarized myself with the wireless thermostat and intended to conduct periodic HVAC maintenance and air conditioning repair service once the system was installed. The entire process took a week and mum was happy with the fresh and clean air in the otherwise old looking houses.
