Last winter, I had to move back in with my parents, they don’t have enough room for me upstairs, and so I ended up moving into their basement, however, the basement was never set up for someone to live down there; Not only is the basement not plumbed for a shower or bathroom, but there also isn’t any Heating & A/C ductwork down there either.
This was a large problem, seeing as how the temperatures around here can get to be absolutely frosty during the winter.
The people I was with and I don’t have mild winters here, in other words, usually the weather starts cooling down at the end of November and then it’s freezing frosty until the end of March! That’s not exactly a Winter season that you can suffer through without a nice gas furnace, then at first, I thought that I might be able to live in the basement with just a nice electric space heater, but then the more I thought about it, the more I realized that this wasn’t something that was going to labor for me. After all, the basement isn’t finished and so most of the moderate air was absolutely going to rise and go straight up through the ceiling and into the upstairs where the lake house is already moderate with the central gas furnace. Now, I think that every one of us are going to have to purchase something called a ductless mini chop air conditioning system unit. At least with a single of those, every one of us won’t have to run current ductwork. I think that would cost us a fortune. I don’t want to cost my parents any more money than I have to!
