Snow melt system eliminates shoveling

Living along the northern border of the country, in close proximity to a single of the Great Lakes means dealing with Winter time weather extremes, but for the majority of the year, conditions are cold & snowy. Terms such as lake-effect snow, cold rain, blizzard conditions & Winter time advisory are frequently a area of our weather reports. There’s constant college closings & driving bans. The snow plows operate 24/7 & the people I was with and I rely heavily on our heating systems. I’ve spent a lot of time & effort shoveling snow. It snows so often & heavily that it’s not odd to need to plow the same driveway several times per day. The two of us need to dig out the mailbox, shovel walkways for the dog & sprinkle snowmelt chemicals on the front steps. A few years ago, I’d had enough, but shoveling is terrible & horrible. I decided to invest in a snowmelt system for our driveway, walkway & front steps. It operates very much prefer the radiant floor heating implemented inside the home. The two of us have a boiler in the basement that heats up water & pumps it through a series of pipes concealed beneath the floors. The heat radiates across the floor & rises slowly, creating a perfectly moderate & cozy home. Even when the outside temperature drops to twenty-several below zero, there’s no cold spots or drafts. The radiant heating system is totally quiet, clean & beautifully energy efficient. I took out a apartment improvement loan to have a network of tubing installed beneath fresh pavement outside! Hot water runs through it to melt away snow & ice. The system automatically starts up, reacting to moisture & temperature drop. I no longer need to worry about where to pile all the snow. There’s no fear of slipping on ice, wet feet or getting the car stuck in the driveway.
