The options for temperature control are improving everyday. Some modern innovations include: smart thermostats, wireless operation of heating and cooling, geothermal units, adaptable speed technology and zone control. These new HVAC innovations offers consumers improvements in indoor cooling and heating. They are designed to perform in a variety of new ways, allowing consumers more opportunity for energy savings and personalized comfort. Perhaps the most rewarding innovation in heating is radiant floor heating. Typically reserved for new construction projects, hydronic radiant floor heating is the epitome of comfort, efficiency and overall benefits. They provide a means of indoor heating that is totally concealed beneath the floor. The pipes carry hot water rather than involving the circulation of air. Because of this, there is no introduction of air contaminants and no extreme fluctuations of temperature. There are no drafts, no noise and no maintenance. While a furnace pumps out warm air through ducts and vents, the radiant floor heating uses a conduction. This means that the floor itself is warm and it then warms all the objects sitting upon it. These objects also radiate heat. Radiant floor heating also offers the easy setup of zone control. Empty rooms don’t need to be heated to the ideal temperature. Specific rooms can be targeted for higher temperature to fulfill requirements or preferences without affecting the rest of the house. I like that the system is clean, client and spreads the heat very evenly. It’s perfectly warm under my bare feet from wall to wall on the coldest nights of the year. I no longer need slippers or even socks.
