I consulted with a nutritionist who created a personalized diet plan and helped me with trying healthy recipes
My parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, brother and sister all struggle with being overweight. When I was a child, there were always lots of snacks on hand in my house. We perpetually had easy access to chocolate, cookies, potato chips, ice cream and all kinds of unhealthy goodies. We often ate donuts, bacon and sausage for breakfast and went through a drive-thru for fast food for dinner. No one in my family ever joined an athletic team or was encouraged to be more physically active. My siblings and I played tons of video games and watched a lot of television. It upset me to be overweight. I was shy and introverted throughout school. I never had the courage to join any clubs, go to school dances or even make new friends. As an adult, I had some difficulty getting a job. I suffered symptoms of depression and struggled with issues of high blood pressure. I finally got determined to change my life for the better. I realized that it would take a major improvement in my fitness and eating regimen. With no idea of how to effectively go about it, I turned to professional help. I researched and discovered a health and wellness center in my local area. This specific facility not only provides workout machines and group fitness classes but also includes nutritional counselling and personal training. I consulted with a nutritionist who created a personalized diet plan and helped me with trying healthy recipes. I now meet with a personal trainer 5 times per week and also take one to two group fitness classes on the weekend. I’ve lost a great deal of weight, and have also built muscles and increased my stamina. I have way more energy, feel so much healthier and have built confidence.
