I might need to call child protective services on my friend.

But this is just negligent. So her house has had a funny smell for a few months now. I was too polite to mention it. I figured that when you have 3 kids there is bound to be some strange smells now and again. Well recently my friend discovered that the smell is due to her HVAC system. Apparently there is a great deal of condensation in the ductwork and it is musty, moldy, and gross. The HVAC company wants to do a thorough ductwork cleaning but my friend didn’t have them do it for some reason. Instead, she got a scented air filter installed in her HVAC system. This masks the smell somewhat but it is still super gross. I don’t know why she chose to tell me all of this. I also don’t know why she doesn’t just get her ductwork cleaned out. After all, her husband is a doctor. They have a lot of money and should know better. Still, I offered to loan her some money to get the ductwork cleaned out but she refused. It doesn’t cost that much to get your ductwork cleaned. I don’t like the idea of those kids living and breathing moldy HVAC air. It is unsanitary. So maybe I should call child protective services. I know if I do that will be the end of our friendship. It is not like I want to hang out in that nasty house anymore anyhow.
