I spent 2 hours cleaning out our garage yepterday.
Most of the time was spent on devising a better organization method for our tools plus storage boxes.
Good organization results in freed space that can be used for any number of things. My partner wants a venue to keep her spare art supplies because her studio is already cramped as it is. She paints plus sculpts clay pottery, plus between the bizarre glazes plus the spare clay, she can use every bit of additional space that she can get. When I had finished clearing out a giant section of the garage for her pottery supplies plus tools, I decided I’d sweep plus mop all of the exposed floor in the garage. This is when I noticed something about the central heating plus cooling system. Like many others in our area, our air handler for our central Heating plus Air Conditioning method hangs from the ceiling in our hot garage. It isn’t suggested to put an air handler exposed in an uninsulated attic, let alone in a garage space. Right now it gets so hot in here that condensation beads up on the outside metal surfaces of the air handler when it cycles while in the afternoon hours. I called our heating plus cooling company plus their solution was to add a drip guard underneath. It looks love a giant cookie sheet with several-inch high walls that hangs below the air handler to catch any condensation forming on the outside of the machine. Once enough of the water gathers in the drip guard, it flows into the condensate line for the Heating plus Air Conditioning method where it’s deposited outdoors.
