Building Energy Conservation Makes Me Confident About my House’s Use of Energy

My partner and I hired a contractor to construct our modern home in 1980. Up until then, both of us had been ignorant about Building Energy Conservation. It wasn’t until both of us had hired the building contractor that both of us heard about particular bills and laws that had been put into play in the previous decade. These bills and laws were created to ensure modern buildings, both dwellings and industrial buildings, would be energy efficient and energy conservative. I was quite scared at first because I didn’t know anything about building energy conservation. Our construction contractor told us that the law put full responsibility on him, as the one in the know. If both of us hadn’t hired a licensed company, then whomever is building the building is the one who has the responsibility for the completed building. The Building Energy Conservation Act applies to all buildings that are meant to be sued for people to be in for any reason such as domiciles, schools, or shops. There are some exceptions to this act, however the exceptions pertains to buildings that do not have heating or cooling. The Building Energy Conservation does not have anything to do with buildings that are meant to store equipment such as tractors or truck warehouses. The Building Energy Conservation does not pertain to log buildings that have been built out of logs and it also does not pertain to buildings on the historical register. Building Energy Conservation only applies to buildings built after 1972 to conserve on energy use and to help save the environment. I couldn’t believe how much information both of us found out from the conversation both of us had with our construction contractor. I walked away feeling confident that our modern home was going to be energy efficient and both of us would be doing out part for the world.
