I am a project manager for a large Building Company. I am constantly moving from one area to another. As soon as the project is complete, I get assigned to an entirely different location. Last March, my company asked me to spend six months in a foreign country. I was very hesitant at first, because six months is a long time. I don’t have a wife or kids, but I was leery of being away from home for that long. I have a nice house with a pool and tennis court, and I have plenty of room to move around. Staying in a hotel for 6 months sounded like a terrible idea. My company offered to put me up in a short-term house rental, instead of a hotel. When they offered the short-term house rental, I decided to take the job. Most of my hasatation comes from living out of a suitcase. It’s really difficult to get comfortable, when I am stuck in 150 square feet. I never feel like I am at home. The short-term house rental will be a three-bedroom Bungalow with two bathrooms joand a small backyard. I saw a few pictures of the rental, and the house is furnished. I’m excited about that, because it will feel more like home. I can’t take my bed, dresser, or living room furniture, but at least the place won’t feel like an empty shell. My company thinks that job will take four or six months, but I think it will probably be 6 or 8. When this project is over, I hope they will let me stay home for a few months before sending me somewhere else
