It wasn’t the HVAC all along

I have been under some long held misinformation I delivered to myself.

That means, I tend to come up with what I think is happening no matter what I hear from those who know better.

This isn’t a great characteristic to have and I don’t recommend it. The situation with the HVAC heating & cooling in our home is a great example of my misguided thinking. We have been in this house just over 5 years. And from the time we moved in until recently, I fervently believed there was an HVAC issue in our home. We noticed fairly quickly that there was a part of the house that was either way too cold in the winter or way too hot in the summer. I quickly deduced that it was due to the HVAC. I figured that the HVAC was not big enough or there was a real problem with the ventilation. So, I called the HVAC people to come out and confirm my findings. That is not what happened. The HVAC tech told me the heating & cooling unit was perfectly sized for our house and was in great shape. That left me puzzled. I asked him to come test the air temps coming from all the vents. He did and they were all consistent in temperature. I still thought this was an HVAC problem. A few years later, I had another HVAC company who came out and told me the same thing. However this time, the tech pointed out that the original HVAC ventilation design had been changed due to the interior walls put up by the previous owner. Finally, I had an answer and it wasn’t the HVAC after all.
