Normally, July would be when summer officially began for our area.
By the end of August, summer is winding up and we are looking forward to fall and winter.
I usually had my HVAC company send someone out and inspect the air conditioning and get the furnace prepared for winter, all at the same time. When May arrived, I just didn’t have the money to have the inspection done. I knew how well the HVAC system worked the previous season, and I decided I would be okay. I guess my mother is right about putting things off. There is a season for everything and that includes repairs. When our summer hits, it hits hard. Temperatures in the nineties and hundreds are normal. This year, summer started in mid-June, and it came on with full heat. I called the HVAC company, but they didn’t have any open slots. They told me I would go on the waiting list and get called when they had an opening. All I could do was hope nothing happened with the air conditioning. I ran the AC unit just like I normally would. Any time I thought I heard an odd noise, I would hold my breath, hoping the AC unit didn’t bread down. I worried that if I didn’t get the AC unit serviced soon, I may need to get a new AC. I knew that it was my choice to wait, but that didn’t make it any easier. Three weeks later, I got a phone call from the HVAC company. They were going to be at the house the following. I breathed a sigh of relief, knowing I would soon have my AC inspected and I wouldn’t need to worry./
