My Grandma’s condo was a frequent staple of our life from the time I was a few weeks outdated until a year & a half ago.
The people I was with and I had sizable family partys on all of the major holidays, with Christmas & Thanksgiving being the 2 that the two of us all enjoyed the most.
All of our aunts & uncles would fly across the country with our cousins for both of those holidays each year. Thankfully, our family lived in the same town as our Grandfatherrents & the two of us never had to travel to get to these holiday partys. I wish these times had lasted longer than they did. As all of the children grew up & moved away for school, the family partys were thinner as the years went on. I was utterly shocked when I was told at 35 years outdated that I was on our Grandma’s will to inherit that outdated condo after she passed away from cancer a year after our Grandfather. Walking inside it again separate from them present was tough to get used to, however soon I grew a fondness for the place again. With a fresh coat of paint & a new indoor layout, I was soon creating a unique space just for me. The last thing I did was get a new a/c installed. This condo doesn’t have a garage, instead it has an outdoor carport. When it was first built, there was no a/c. By the 70s, our Grandfatherrents finally bought an a/c, however it was put into a wooden lodgeet in the car port. It’s not exactly the most energy efficient place for the air handler, as it will absorb heat on warm Summer days. Instead I system to move it to the attic above the main hallway that runs through the heart of the home.
