It seems to me that the evolution of electronic technology is just non-stop.
There are times that my old brain gets just overwhelmed by the constant tech advancement.
My emotions about tech range from amazement to terrified at times with some of the applications that I am seeing. I’m still the sort of guy who likes to come home from work and put my feet up in the HVAC while enjoying some music. Just the way I get my music changes every few years. Not that I am complaining but, sometimes I like to keep it simple. However, my favorite tech advancement and application has to be the smart HVAC thermostat. I just love this thing. For years I have struggled to manage the HVAC use in our home. We live in an area where the heat is a big deal and the HVAC energy use in the summer gets big. I have always felt that we over cool our home during the peak heating hours of the summer. However, I always like to come home from the office to a cooled down house. Our old thermostat was not programmable so, I tried pushing the thermostat up quite a bit when I left for work. But it sure was warm in the house when I got home and took quite some time to get down to a comfortable level. Unfortunately, I stopped setting the thermostat as high while I was away at work. But with the smart thermostat, I don’t have to worry at all. I simply gave the thing a set of parameters regarding our HVAC comfort levels and it did the rest.
