It appears that I may be finally coming to terms with a new normal.
- The pandemic has impacted our lives in much the same way it has others.
Thankfully, those whom I love in my extended family that have gotten the virus have survived. Although they are dealing with a lot of health concerns related to having had it. This makes it much easier to just stay inside the comfort and security of my HVAC controlled home. I try to tell myself that it’s an added excuse to be inside the HVAC while the summer heat is doing its usual number on us. But the reality of our situation is a bit grim. The virus doesn’t care what our politics or feelings are about it. This virus is totally indiscriminate. Now that we are at home all the time in the HVAC, I have wanted to do something about the indoor air quality. I didn’t know until all this started that indoor air quality had an impact on our overall health and immune system. But the more I read, the more it made sense. The ongoing respiratory or sinus issues can almost always be linked to poor indoor air quality. So, our immune system is weakened as it is continually having to fight off the direct affects of all these airborne contaminants. We changed our HVAC air filters to the better HEPA type filter. It removes far more airborne hazards than the cheap ones. Yet, we are still considering going for the best indoor air quality possible with the whole house air purifier. I think that getting all the protection we can is wise in this really weird new normal.
