I went shopping for new HVAC units last week.
I love to go shopping in general, but when I’m shopping for heating and cooling units I have even more fun.
My father was an HVAC technician, and he often would send me to the heating and cooling business to pick up some air conditioner or furnace parts that he needed while at work. I learned a lot about all the different kinds of central air conditioners, furnaces, and boilers just from watching my dad work on them. Now that I have a home of my own I get to pick out my own heating and cooling units for my house. I started at a small heating and cooling store that is right down the road from my house. I didn’t find a furnace or air conditioner there that I liked, but I did find two great UV light air purifiers that I really liked. Next I drove to a bigger heating and cooling store which is located downtown. I walked into the store and was amazed at the size of the place. They had boilers, electric, oil, and gas furnaces, central air conditioners, window air conditioners, thermostats, and so much more to choose from. I was in the HVAC store for over two hours trying to find the perfect air conditioner and furnace for my home. While shopping I kept in mind some of the tips my dad had taught me about purchasing an air conditioner and furnace, and what to look for in a good HVAC unit. I finally settled on a nice central air conditioner and an electric furnace.
