When I decided to get the services of a certain HVAC company, the main reason why I went with them was because of a certain advertisement.
They said that if you enrolled in an HVAC service plan with them, you would get a year’s worth of air filters for free! I thought that was the best deal I have ever heard of! Well, they did alright working on my HVAC and taking care of the maintenance, but sooner than later I started having poor air quality in my home.
My wife was asking if they actually changed the air filters, and I was certain that they did that. When I went to check the air filter, I was shocked with what I found. The air filter they put in my HVAC system was one of the lowest quality air filters I have ever seen. This was one of those cheap fiberglass air filters that you can actually see through. It doesn’t really do anything to protect your HVAC system and it certainly doesn’t do anything to keep your air quality good. I realized that I was suckered by this HVAC company. When I called to complain about the cheap air filters they were using, they apologized and said that it was the free air filters that came with the deal. Instead of using that garbage they were putting in my HVAC, I decided to go pick up some HEPA air filters. My air quality was good again in no time and the HEPA air filters last a long time! The next time they came over and tried to change my air filter, I told them not to bother with those cheap air filters they were using, I would take care of it on my own!
