I absolutely cannot guess that I waited this long to buy a furnace.
- What was I thinking? When I first moved into this house, there was no furnace in the house.
In fact, there were no appliances at all. There wasn’t even an electrical panel to hook a furnace up to. Since I was buying the apartment as a fixer-upper, I got a good deal on the apartment since it had no furnace, and I immediately began repairing a ton of stuff within the house. Since there was so much to do, the furnace absolutely ended up pretty far down the list. I know that the furnace might seem to be the most crucial appliance in your house, however when you do not have running water or electricity, you will realize that a furnace is not crucial at that point. Besides, if you do not have a furnace, that does not mean that you cannot heat your house. Without a furnace, I just had to get creative with the ways that I heated my house, then one of the things that I did to heat my apartment respectfully was to make sure that I had a ton of smaller furnaces. I had a large assortment of electric space heaters, propane heaters, and kerosene heaters. Sure, these oil heating systems might be considered unsafe compared to a furnace, however when compared to trying to survive without a furnace, these heating systems start to look good. I used these space oil heating systems for 6 years before I was finally able to purchase a furnace for my house. I was used to not having a furnace, however after having a furnace for a few weeks, I realized what I had been missing. I definitely should have bumped the furnace project higher on the list.
