My family are always finding reasons to have a party.
Last week was the last straw. My brother chose to throw a party to introduce his new heating system. What were we supposed to do? Was I supposed to go and introduce myself? This was one of the silliest things I had ever heard of. I refused to go, which hurt my brother’s feelings. I told him I had to work. So, yesterday he invited me for lunch. I had no excuse not to go, so I went to his house. It was good to see my niece and nephew, but I wasn’t excited over a new furnace. I was surprised that he didn’t have just a furnace. He had a boiler installed, along with radiant heated flooring. The flooring made the house feel like the heat was settling around me. I had never felt such comfortable heating. It was like it was flowing right up through my body. I asked him what it was and he showed me, the boiler and the water pipes. He said hot water was flowing beneath the flooring. The floor was heated and the heat radiated up into the air. Instead of air vents and blowing it, it simply heated the air from the ground up, before it had a chance to get to the ceiling. I couldn’t believe how nice it felt to walk around without any shoes. My feet were warm instead of freezing.I loved the radiant heating. I told him that if I ever got my own home, I would definitely have radiant heated flooring installed.
