By the time they showed up, I needed a new HVAC system
I understand that I am a grown man, but I am stupid when it comes to being independent. I blame it on my parents, even though everyone tells me that I am too old to do this. I may be thirty, but that doesn’t make me independent. I lived with my parents up until a month ago. I had to move because I got a change in my work position. The commute to my job had become too much. I didn’t know anything about being on my own. I wasn’t able to take care of the house, or to take care of a HVAC system. I had to call my father to ask how to change the air filter. This was after I had lived in the house for almost three months. I had called the HVAC company and told them that my house smelled like dust all the time. They asked if I had changed the air filter? I didn’t even know the air conditioner had an air filter. I worried about doing something that would break the AC unit. My dad told me that he was too far away from me to help out. I finally called the HVAC company back and told them I needed them to change the air filter for me. I’m sure this gave them a laugh. By the time they showed up, I needed a new HVAC system. I’m sure this need wasn’t because the air filter wasn’t changed right away, but it isn’t stopping me from being frustrated. If my parents had taught me how to take care of a home, I wouldn’t be floundering here right now.
