Keep snow and ice from hurting Heating and A/C during the winter

Anyone who has ever lived up here in the nether reaches of the north knows what it’s all about when it comes to snow and ice. The amounts of that stuff we see around here is close to staggering. I know I am constantly battling it just to get back and forth to work. There is also all the expense of snow removal component and all those bags of icemelt. However, it is still up to myself and others to get out there and sling that snow. That’s why it sort of surprises myself and others that I forgot about the other half of the Heating and A/C for all these years. The air conditioning, in this area of the country, is sort of an afterthought. I wouldn’t even own a single if it wasn’t for our partner. She gets tepid and bothered in the worst way if the temps get anywhere above 80. So, with this apartment we put in the I know I just forgot that the Heating and A/C compressor cabinet just sits outside all through the long winter. I asked the Heating and A/C guy about this and he told myself and others that the weight of snow and ice can do lasting mangle to the Heating and A/C components in the cabinet outside. His recommendation was to order a difficult plastic cover that slips right over the Heating and A/C. This way, once the frigid air is on it’s way, I can simply slip the cover on the Heating and A/C cabinet and leave it until it’s ready to be fired up in the summer. My partner would lose his mind if he had to go a afternoon in the 80’s without his beloved air conditioning.
