I have been working in construction for the last 30 years since I was a teenager fresh out of high school.
And in my time in this business I have went on all kinds of jobs.
From the really tough to the simple. But recently, I had a job that I never had in all of my 30 years in the business! Our crew was given the job of building the layout for the ductwork to go in for a central heating and air conditioning system! That was something I never did and I am not sure why we were hired to do it. We are not certified heating and air conditioning specialists, and none of us know anything about heating and cooling other than how to operate our own central heating and air conditioning system units! But they had given us blueprints to follow so we would know what to do and how to do it. It was for a house that was almost built. Another construction company built the house, but I guess they did not want to deal with the heating and air conditioning ductwork preparation work. What we had to build was the area that the HVAC contractor will lay all the ductwork in. I am going to guess that this house is going to have a pretty new and up to date central heating and air conditioning system based on the blueprints we had and the amount of work we had to do. It was an interesting experience, but I really hope that we never have a job like this again. I really did not feel comfortable.
